Lawrence Bates

Lawrence founded the Club in January 1987 and served as its chairman until 2006.

Peter Connolly

Peter was one of the Club's most popular backpacking leaders until his death in 2007.

Luciano Colombo

Luciano served as a backpacking leader for many years and was one of its most popular members, entertaining and easy-going. He died in a hiking accident in the Cathedral Peak area in 2008.

Donald Benn

Don is recognised for his tireless commitment as groundsman and barman at the Whirling Wheels social venue up to and as the printer of the Club's magazine.
